The book begins in the 1920s in Srikakulam, where tribals and its king struggle against British miners digging gold in their lands, and are massacred, fleeing to an island named Divi in Sri Lanka without telling about a prophesied descendant. Jump to after the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, one of their problematic cops Suri (Vijay Deverakonda) is hounded by the loss of his missing brother Siva, and goes on an undercover assignment. Sent by an officer, Jayaprakash Suri enters Jaffna prison in the midst of the civil war to discover a huge shipment of arms and gold of Hong Kong through the brutal Tamil cartel boss Odiyappan.
Suri ignites a brawl in a temple to be arrested, reconnects with Siva (Satyadev), head of the 1920 tribe descendants on Divi, at their tense reunion. Winning the trust of Odiyappan during his iron rule and his son Murugan, Suri manages to dodge the smuggling business which is interrupted by the navy. He steals gold at one of the naval bases and becomes a hero, but Siva gets to know that he is a cop. The tension peaks when Murugan kills Odiyappan and wipes out the gang along with Siva’s wife, fulfilling the prophecy hinted earlier. Suri is an avenger of fury and kills Murugan, becomes king of Divi. The tease after the credits features Sethu (the eldest son of Odiyappan) and a photo revealing Suri, which is a setup to the sequel.
